A good set of 4 of early 19thC Georgian period Wedgwood pearlware dessert plates, underglaze blue printed and overglaze enamelled and gilt with the Imari “Lotus” pattern. Apricot lustre edges. Blue tinted pearlware glaze.
Approx. 8″/20.5cm diameter.
In very good condition. Light age-related wear and faint glaze crazing. Possible small, tight “Y” hairline to base of one, but I can’t see it on the top surface. The orange colour to the flower petals in the well of the plates has faded a bit – best and worst shown in close-up.
Impressed “WEDGWOOD” and “H H”, printed “W” and painted decorator’s marks, c1810-20.
